The Platinum Jubilee

Seventy years ago, the Ffestiniog Railway re-opened as a passenger railway. Two hundred years ago, the Stockton & Darlington Railway operated the first proper passenger train. The occasions were marked over the summer solstice with three days full of steam trains along the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland lines in northwest Wales.
